My first blog post on this website was My Top 10 romance reads of 2020, and I realize I haven’t done an introduction post about the blog itself.
It is scary starting something new. But now that the website is live and I am pushing out new posts, all I can say is that it’s exhilarating and frightening to have this piece of myself out there for anyone to read. But that’s the point, isn’t it?
You have to start somewhere. And if it is something you are passionate about? Trust me, you will make sure it is as perfect as you can make it.
So, who am I?
I am Priyanka, the person behind Forever She Reads Book Blog. Originally, I started a Bookstagram Page. It was actually a part of my course in Digital Marketing – to understand the Facebook and Instagram platform, but turned out into this amazing page where I share my love for books.
Honestly, starting the Instagram page was one of the best things I did. It not only made me more creative in terms of content and graphics, but it also made me sociable. It is easy to make friends online than offline, right?
Why the name 'Forever She Reads'?
I was joking with a friend one day that when I’m old and grey, I’ll probably be lounging on a couch, with a blanket wrapped around my shoulders and a thick book in my hand. That’s how the name came to be.
My love for books is something I cannot accurately describe. I’ve always felt they have a life of their own. Although inanimate, they have a piece of the soul of the author. I’m always reading in my free time or talking about books with my friends or writing reviews.
Although, I broke up with books a few years back. I got into Clash of Clans and some otome games. And a few months later, I felt like I was missing something. It’s then I started reading again.
What started my love for reading?
You probably won’t believe it, but I hated books and reading once upon a time. Like, what is so fun about the text on a paper? I already had to study for school, and add more reading to that? No thanks!
My mom is an avid reader and loved reading Romance. She’d have Amanda Quick, Victoria Alexander and some Mills and Boon books strewn around the house. I remember she had also gifted me an Enid Blyton book, which I refused to read.
I was in 6th or 7th grade when I got curious about what mom was reading. Amanda Quick’s Second Sight was my first ever read. BUT, the funny part was I didn’t even understand what I was reading there was an explicit scene in the first few chapters. Haha, when mom caught me reading it, she said I should probably begin with Enid Blyton since the reading level was low. And then I was pulled into this wonderful world of books.
Some of my favourite books then were – Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, Easy by Tammara Webber, Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling, Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Famous Five and Naughtiest Girl series by Enid Blyton and many more.
What is my favourite Genre?
Romance! I am a Romance reader. I enjoy reading about the characters’ journey, from strangers to friends or enemies to lovers, falling in love, and the obstacles that they have to overcome. I can read anything that has some element of romance in it.
Are you interested in trying out romance books? Here’s my post on the types of romance genres.
One of my favourite sub-genres is Paranormal Romance. I would love to be a character that’s this badass female with terrifying power and saving the world (Kate Daniels’ series comes to my mind).
I also enjoy Contemporary Romance, Mid-Darkish romance, Reverse Harem, Academy, and Bully Romance.
What are my top romance books recommendations?
I only write detailed reviews of the books I loved and rated over 3 stars. So here are some of my favorites linking to my review:
- Bared to You by Sylvia Day
- On Dublin Street by Samantha Young
- Tormentor Mine by Anna Zaires
What is Forever She Reads website all about? Do I have any goals?
This website is all about some amazing books I’ve loved and enjoyed which I’m sure most of you would too! I’ll be writing about some digital hacks for book bloggers, share detailed reviews and recommendations, favourite authors and so on.
I hope that my visitors enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing and planning the content.
As for goals, I want this page to be a popular spot for recommendations in the Romance genre and build a community of readers who enjoy similar books and build a blogging career out of it.
Other than being a Romance Reader…
I am a Digital Marketing Professional. I love all of its aspects – Website, Search Engines, Social Media, Blogging. I enjoy reading about how brands market their products, the message, the tone, the audience they are targeting – I am a Marketing nerd.
I love how Digital can empower us to do our thing and earn from it (If you know all the right things, you can start your own business). But it has also become more competitive and crowded. Standing out has become a challenge.
I love learning new things, and I also enjoy consulting/teaching.
