Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Movie – A Phenomenal Experience

Latest Update (July 2024):

The Taylor Swift Era’s Movie is now available on Disney+Hotstar with all the cut songs from the movie. It also includes additional acoustic songs.

After Taylor released The Tortured Poets Department, that album is now a part of the tour and it’s so good! Several songs were removed from the setlist.

Taylor Swift took the world by storm with her Era’s concert. All the videos on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, the chants, the visuals, the performance, made it an event that you had to attend – and especially if you’re a Swiftie and want to see her in action.

I’ve been a Swiftie ever since Love Story and You Belong With Me, and have followed her for a long time, through her ups and downs, her romances with the bad and the good guys, her darker days and the light ones after, I feel like I can relate to her. And as a writer, I consider her my role model.

Swifties all over have been going crazy and we international ones were waiting impatiently to check where she’ll be touring abroad. I was disappointed when I didn’t see India on her list. One thing on my bucket list is attending Taylor’s concert, and I really hope she considers putting India on her list.

However, when she announced that the ‘Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Movie’ would be released worldwide, she somehow made the dreams of those who couldn’t attend her concert come true.

I was legit waiting impatiently for it to come out (It was released in India on November 3rd) and I went for the movie the next day with my friend and mom (and yes, she’s a Taylor Swift fan too). We didn’t get enough of her, so we went the second time with another group of friends, and we had the time of our lives with her and all the other people in the theatre – both times.

Review: Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie

Rating: 5 Stars. ‘Worth the watch and experience’.
Times Visited: Twice

There were goosebumps when I first saw the title hit the screen, like, this is it. My first ever concert-like experience and it’s my most favorite ever singer – Taylor Swift. I was excited to see how it would pan out – having seen so many reels from the theatres as well as the live concerts, I was hoping the crowd would go wild, and that we get to sing (and in my friend’s case – scream lol) her songs.

She started with the Lover album, and her first song was Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince, and the visuals! Her entry was a banger. And then, there was the iconic Cruel Summer. Although initially the crowd seemed mild and a little reluctant to stand up and scream, everyone eventually got over it and just started to scream the lyrics.

She matched every Era with the colors she related to those albums. And as we sung the older songs like ‘Love Story’ and ‘You belong With Me’, it just reminded me of why we (the older swifties) loved her from the very beginning. Her music has always been relatable and heartfelt.

Most of the people in the theatre were up and dancing to her popular albums. But when the Folklore and Evermore songs were playing, everyone was sitting. I didn’t know the songs very well myself – but a couple hit my attention and now are my top favorites: My Tears Ricochet and Tolerate It.

I am not one for screaming, shouting or dancing, but with Taylor’s energetic dance moves, the performance and the visuals, and the people, you couldn’t help but jump up and just let it out. Even the non-swifties were standing and just swaying to the music.

Also, let’s talk about the visuals. The stage that her team has built and conceptualized is AMAZING. The platform visuals like the lightning from the corners of the stage during Delicate or the lights shooting up during Don’t Blame Me, are so on point. I am not sure if you’d notice it in the live concert, but the way each moment was captured in the movie, the screen showing us the entire stage, you can’t miss out on the theatrics and damn, it is so so gorgeous.

And another round of applause to the dancers! (And yes, a special mention to Jan Ravnik LOL) I respect those dancers who are able to keep up with Taylor Swift and have performed so well. The choreography – Looking at ‘The Last Great American Dynasty’ or ‘Style’ – the dancers are all having fun with it, and I loved watching and dancing along with them.

Lastly, about the anti-hero in the movie herself: Taylor Swift.

Taylor is a goddess sent to Earth (LOL, too much?) I am in awe of her talent, the life and the experiences she’s gone through, and her ability to weave it into lyrical masterpieces. As a writer myself, she motivates me to do better. She IS a mastermind and the way she’s crafted the tour is simply magical.

It was an unforgettable experience, and with her power moves with this movie.

Taylor’s The Eras Concert spans her 17 years of music – from country songs to pop to fantasy/folklore type music, she has constantly evolved and experimented with different genres, and I loved how she’s showcased them all in this concert.

My friends and I had a great time there, and I would recommend watching it! (it’s probably out of the theatres now but get your friends with you when it’s available to stream!)
