Wall Street Titan Review

Wall Street Titan is a completely different book than what Anna Zaires usually writes. It is a Contemporary Romantic Comedy, featuring an introverted cat lady who is trying online dating and a billionaire looking for a wife that fits his sophisticated requirements.

So, Anna Zaires is one of my favorite authors – her writing style is amazing and her characters are dynamic and well-rounded. Wall Street Titan doesn’t disappoint. It just proves how versatile a writer she is.

Written in dual POV, the story starts off with Emma, who is a certified cat-lady, working as a freelance editor and has a full-time job at a bookstore. She prefers betting on the mundanity – because it is safe and predictable. After getting a sad reality check by her best friend, she gets back into the dating game and finds a ‘safe’ guy on the app.

Imagine her surprise when she meets the guy who doesn’t match his profile at all! He is rude, domineering, and hates cats! He’s completely opposite from the dating profile.

The plot of the story is great, I was hooked from chapter one – relating myself to Emma, and laughing at Marcus’ thoughts. Although it’s a cliche – a billionaire alpha male meets a cat-lady who isn’t interested in his money, but there’s this undeniable attraction and chemistry between the two.

I was (and still am) addicted to them instantly and devoured all the chapters in hours!

She’s chocolate and lazy days on the couch, Netflix binging and a pack of cigarettes. She’s everything I can’t have and shouldn’t want—an unhealthy temptation that can ruin everything.

Emma’s a fantastic character. I could relate to her a lot because I am as introverted as her and I too bet on the safe stuff than challenging myself to do something more.

She isn’t interested in Marcus’ position or money, and she’d rather not have his attention at all. What I loved is that she never let the attraction lead her actions. She knows her values and sticks to them.

She is sassy and quirky. With a past like hers, she is determined not to let herself depend on someone else. She’s wary to let Marcus in, but he breaks through her barriers, and she feels as if she can trust him.

She’s an amazing friend to Kendall. She also owns three cats, and they are one of my favorite parts of the story. Her character’s so genuine – you want to be her best friend.

I was with my redheaded obsession, and I couldn't tear myself away from her. In one short weekend, I've become so addicted that I've lost sight of what matters.

Marcus, Marcus, Marcus – he checks off on all my favorite Alpha Billionaire boxes. He is one of my top book boyfriends – alpha male, overly possessive, knows what he wants and goes after it, and overprotective.

Marcus owns a hedge fund company, is a billionaire and a top dog on Wall Street. All he needs now is a wife – a sophisticated lady, coming from an excellent family, well educated, and a perfect hostess for all of their social events.

Instead, in a case of mistaken identity and accidental coincidences, he meets Emma, a redhead he can’t stop thinking about.

He doesn’t understand why he feels this intense attraction to Emma. She isn’t his type and yet she’s on his mind every day. He’s not about to let it go, though. And so begins the chase.

Emma doesn’t give him the time of her day and Marcus has to work on getting her attention (Which I loved lol). He finds Emma’s love for her cats peculiar. And his thoughts left me snorting with laughter. There was something about her he wanted to unravel and tie to himself.

Another thing I love about Marcus is that he has all those trademark traits of Anna Zaires’ heroes. If he weren’t a billionaire working a legal job, he’d definitely be like Peter Sokolov. And I love that guy.

I want Emma the way I once wanted my first billion: with a single-minded intensity that lets nothing stand in my way.

Their off-the-charts chemistry, the push and pull between the two, his obsession with Emma and their slow-burn relationship left me wanting more. They are so addictive. Both have had a tough past, and as the story progresses, you see them connecting on an emotional level.

The story ends on a cliffhanger, and it isn’t bad. We know their love is the end goal. I kind of loved it because – yay, more Marcus and Emma!

Wall Street Titan is one of my best reads of 2020. I’ve re-read it twice in the same year – Marcus is an addictive alpha billionaire that is sure going to land on your favorite book boyfriends list.

I highly recommend this series if you love Billionaire romance full of humor, sass and fun.

Wall Street Titan - Blurb

A billionaire who wants a perfect wife…

At thirty-five, Marcus Carelli has it all: wealth, power, and the kind of looks that leave women breathless. A self-made billionaire, he heads one of the largest hedge funds on Wall Street and can take down major corporations with a single word. The only thing he’s missing? A wife who’d be as big of an achievement as the billions in his bank account.

A cat lady who needs a date…

Twenty-six-year-old bookstore clerk Emma Walsh has it on good authority that she’s a cat lady. She doesn’t necessarily agree with that assessment, but it’s hard to argue with the facts. Raggedy clothes covered with cat hair? Check. Last professional haircut? Over a year ago. Oh, and three cats in a tiny Brooklyn studio? Yep, she’s got those.

And yes, fine, she hasn’t had a date since… well, she can’t recall. But that part is fixable. Isn’t that what the dating sites are for?

A case of mistaken identity…

One high-end matchmaker, one dating app, one mix-up that changes everything… Opposites may attract, but can this last?

About Anna Zaires:

Anna Zaires fell in love with books at the age of five, when her grandmother taught her to read. She wrote her first story shortly thereafter. Since then, she has always lived partially in a fantasy world where the only limits were those of her imagination. Currently residing in Florida, Anna is happily married to Dima Zales (a science fiction and fantasy author) and closely collaborates with him on all their works.

After graduating from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics, Anna spent eight years on Wall Street analyzing stocks and writing research reports. In 2013, she became a full-time author, pursuing her lifelong dream of writing romance novels.

In addition to reading and writing, Anna enjoys drinking tea (coconut oolong, anyone?), watching addictive TV shows, and discussing book ideas during long walks with her amazing husband
