Meet The Book Blogger Tag

Hey, Bookworms!

I’ve been looking for Book Tags to make my blog a little more interesting. I love doing Bookstagram challenges because they need some creative photography ideas (which I kinda suck at), and they are fun and different from the regular book reviews I do!

I found this nicely done Meet The Book Blogger Tag by Zezee, and she has an amazing list of all the Book Tags that I’m super excited to do! This tag was created by Samantha and Amber at Bibliomavens

These questions are super fun and will make you think deep. You’ll probably see a theme in my answers. It’s also a great opportunity to introduce myself!

Right, here we go –

Who is your all-time favourite book character?

This is a tough question. Honestly, I could never pick this just one something. All the books and the characters that have landed on my all-time favorites have hit me differently. But for this question, I will try to pick one *scrolls through Goodreads trying to find the one…*

Y’all, I cannot pick just one. I’ve got several. I’ll pick my 5 all-time favorite heroines. It’s based on character growth and development, who hit me in the best ways and have never let me down.

Nevada Baylor from the Hidden Legacy Series by Ilona Andrews.
Kate Daniels from the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.
Elena Deveraux from the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.
Katy from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
Poppy Balfour from the Blood and Ash series by
Jennifer L. Armentrout.

These are all from my favorite Paranormal/Fantasy Romances. The reasons I love them are because, in my mind, I want to be like them. They are brave–of course, with their careers they have to be that–but they know their weaknesses. They aren’t afraid to be vulnerable.

They grow throughout the series, as they battle their way to the top, find loves that help them become a stronger version of themselves.

If you were stranded on a desert island, which book would you take with you? (Survival books do not count)

I am dying for the third book in the Blood and Ash series–The Crown of Gilded Bones. So I’d probably take that with me. It is thicker than the first two books – and I’ve been looking at all those teasers JLA’s been posting in the spoiler group, so I know it is gonna be amazing.

I am not sure how that would help me survive, though. I’d probably be curled up on the sand, crying my butt out.

What’s your most unpopular book opinion?

Some of the Bully Romances are straight-up bad. The heroine is described as this badass, takes no crap from anyone, brave person. But it’s all just that – a description. Instead, she is a TSTL character, taking the weirdest of revenge against the guy/s. She lets this attraction she has toward the lead get in the way and forgives him for doing all that crap to her. I won’t mention the books here, but I’ve read some that never made sense.

I found Throne of Glass (Book One) boring (Don’t kill me y’all!) but I loved ACOTAR.

What’s your weirdest bookish habit?

Sometimes I get a book, I read a few chapters, skip to the middle, and then skip and hop chapters until I reach the end. I’ve done this particularly for books I am really wary of. Usually, they are dark romances. I’d like to get a feel of the plot and know beforehand if anything bad is going to happen.

Sometimes I just read the ending to see how bad the cliffhanger is. It also makes me run away from that book because I know what’s going to happen. I am weird.

What character would you bring to a family event as your fake partner?

I have over 100 guys on my top book boyfriend list. Some vampires, werewolves, some mafia, and criminal guys. I usually avoid going to family events but *grins wickedly* I can imagine the look on my relatives’ faces if I ever brought one of them to that event. But I digress.

I would bring Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. That guy is charming when he wants to be, and I’m sure he’d make the event fun with his snarky, sassy af comments.

What made you decide to start a book blog?

I’ve been reading books for at least half of my life. I knew many people in my college that started blogging about their passion, but that never crossed my mind. I’m also on an extreme level of introversion, so the thought of talking to people also was daunting.

Eventually, I got into Social Media Marketing, handling the pages of businesses. I understood how interesting and fun it is. After completing a Digital Marketing course, I learnt everything Blogging related – Website, Social Media, Affiliate Marketing, and was finally confident to take that step.

I have met so many people on Bookstagram and all of them are so supportive. It gave me confidence about my posts and reviews. I love discussing the books I’ve read with fellow romance readers.

I am passionate about the Digital Marketing field and I love Romance books – why not blend the two with this blog?

What about reading and books do you love the most?

I used to hate books, reading activity, and the English language. LOL. I remember asking my mom what was fun about reading books when you could just watch a movie. My mom was an avid Historical Romance reader then.

One day I was curious, and I found this book on the sofa. Amanda Quick was one of my first romance reads. This book is still one of my most favorite Historical Romances.

My mom was surprised at my interest in reading and recommended I start with Enid Blyton. Boy, was I addicted. I’ve read a lot since then, from YA to NA and Contemporary Romances.

Reading gives me the chance to live a different life and experience different things. Like, I’ve dated a rockstar, fell for a vampire, hated to love a villain, cheered for the heroine. When they said ‘The more books you’ve read, the more lives you’ve read’ it is so true.

I love living in the fantastical world, escape into a new world, ‘meet’ new people. My life is an average one, so experiencing the book world just gives me a reprieve from all the mundanity and responsibilities.

What is your field of study/desired profession/current profession?

I am a Digital Marketer, with a specialization in Search Engine Optimization – which basically means getting a page to rank first on Google for a keyword people usually search for.

I’ve been interested in this field since I was introduced to it. I was a Social Media Executive for an agency and wanted to learn all the different aspects. I have a postgraduate degree in Marketing, so it made sense I pursue a Digital Marketing course.

I do want to start something of my own – a marketing agency catering to authors, and eventually write my own books – I’ve cooked so many stories up in my head, I never have the motivation to write.

What are some book recommendations that became your favourites/obsessions?

So Jennifer L. Armentrout is an author I am obsessed with ever since I read Obsidian, the first in the Young Adult Paranormal series – Lux. Her current Blood and Ash series has left me with a terrible book slump. I’ve been reading the teasers in the spoiler group, checking out the art, like crazy addict looking for the next hit.

Some of the other series I remember being completely obsessed with are: Fallen Crest series by Tijan, Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, Dark Legacy series by Jaymin Eve and Tate James, All the Pretty Monsters series by Kristy Cunning, and a lot more that aren’t coming to my mind right now.

What is the book you shove down everyone’s throat?

Honestly, the answers keep changing. My favorite ‘shelf’ gets constantly shuffled depending on my mood and who I’m obsessing over. I don’t have just one book I shove down everyone’s throat – I am a mood reader so I like giving my friends options haha.

These are some of MUST READ NOW books –

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer. L Armentrout – Fantasy Romance.
A Nordic King by Karina Halle – Contemporary Royal Romance.
Wall Street Titan by Anna Zaires – Contemporary Billionaire Romantic Comedy.
From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata – Contemporary Slow-burn Sports Romance.

It was fun doing the Meet The Book Blogger Tag! If you’ve read till the end, thank you for giving me the time of your day and hope you liked my responses!

I tag everyone who hasn’t done this to give it a shot! It’s a great way to introduce yourself and talk about all of your favorite books 😉

Loved reading all of your answers to this tag! We are also both Digital Marketers and big fans of romance books! It’s definitely fun blending the two together into a blog. And I agree with you, Throne of Glass was extremely boring. Whenever people ask me if they should read it I say the first one is rough, but it does get better.
