The Royal Elite Series by Rina Kent took the dark romance community by storm – with the overly possessive and obsessive heroes, bully romances, and heroines strong enough to face them.
If you’re here, you probably can’t get enough of the Royal Elite series and are looking for something similar. This series is known for its dark anti-heroes who lack a moral compass, enemies to lovers, suspense, and spicy scenes.
Here are some series/books like Royal Elite Series that you’ll like:
And in case you haven’t read the series, here’s my review for Deviant King, the book that started it all.
Legacy of Gods Series by Rina Kent
This is an obvious recommendation considering the Legacy of Gods series follows the kids of the Royal Elite gang and her other Mafia series.
This series encompasses all the elements that you see in the original series, however, the heroes are darker and crueler, and more intense in their pursuit of the heroine. There’s mention of past incidences that led to the characters leading to a certain path, and it’s an addictive read if you devour these tropes.
The first book is God of Malice, which has non-con, dub-con elements, so be mindful of triggers.
The Royals by Erin Watt
A New Adult Romance, The Royals Series is not dark compared to the other books in this list. The first three books are a trilogy following the eldest Royal sibling and a girl who joins their broken family after she is left an orphan.
The heroine is thrust into a new world of wealth, striving to survive the loss she is dealt with, and the latest situation of living with five broken siblings.
I found this trilogy to be a captivating read. The tropes include enemies to lovers and high school light bully romance.
Fall Away Series by Penelope Douglas
Bully, the first book in this series, is the OG bully romance book (according to me) that started this trend. Perhaps not as dark as the other listed series here, it is an enemies-to-lovers romance with an alphahole and a strong, sassy heroine.
I have read only the first two books in this series, and if you’re a fan of New Adult High School angsty romances that include car racing and our main characters who are neighbors turned from best friends to enemies to lovers, this book should be on your TBR.
Made Series by Danielle Lori
The Made series is a Mafia Romance featuring obsessive possessive alpha heroes and strong heroines. It is an ongoing series of standalone books – three are out.
The first book, The Sweetest Oblivion is an enemies-to-lovers, forbidden romance, where the hero is arranged to marry the heroine’s sister (This is a trope that I generally avoid, but the book was enticing enough). However, the main characters only have eyes for one another. With a crazy mafia family as the supporting characters, this is a fun read.
Broken Love Series by B.B Reid
The Broken Love series is possibly the darkest along with the LoG series.
The first two books follow one couple, and it is a heavy dark bully romance with dub-con elements. The hero hates the heroine for reasons we are unaware of, and you’ll love to hate him. He railroads the heroine most of the time, believes she’s ratted him out to the cops and wants revenge.
It’s quite dark, and the hero is very unlikeable. However, he is a force to be reckoned with, and the plot has suspense that will keep you up at night.
Well, here are some books similar to Royal Elite Series. Do check the trigger warnings before you start the dark ones.
