Eye of the Beholder Book Review
Eye of the Beholder is one of the classic romantic suspense by Jayne Ann Krentz that focuses on the mystery along with the romance. The hero is broody with a dark past and the heroine is strong, sassy and ready for any challenges.
The moment I picked this book and read the Prologue which was an intriguing and dangerous beginning, I was hooked.
Trask, the hero of the book, is back in Avalon, a town where his father was ‘murdered’, and he’s ready to dig out the truth behind the event. He’s suspicious of three people – one of them is the stepfather of the heroine, Alexa.
Alexa is not taking any crap from Trask, and is willing to work with him to prove her stepfather’s innocence. Of course, they clash, they burn, they fall for one another, while solving this mystery.
I think the romance is a little fast-paced and I think Trask and Alexa fell in love a bit fast. The mystery though, it will keep you guessing till the very end.
I love Jayne Ann Krentz’s writing style and how she’s always able to reel me in despite this book being a repeat read.
Would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and suspense – with a strong couple solving the mystery together.
